Meet our Research team
Milica Marušić Jablanović, senior research associate at the Institute for Educatonal Research in Belgrade. The main areas of her research are: adult education, education and professional development of teachers, personal values, scientific and environmental literacy.
She is an expert in theories and research related to environmental literacy and has experience in conducting national and international research (TIMSS 2015 – Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study). She is the co-author (with S. Blagdanić) of a monograph dealing with natural-scientific literacy, large number of papers on the topic of ecological literacy, including an invited lecture at an international meeting on the topic of the components of ecological literacy.
She is principal investigator at the ELIPS project and coordinates the work package related to project management.

Dragana Đorđević, principal research fellow at the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade. The focus of her research is: environmental chemistry, climate change, assessment and prevention of environmental risks, anthropogenic and natural sources of air contaminant emissions, mathematical modeling.
She is a reviewer for many top international journals and has participated in and managed national and international projects.

Dragana Gundogan, research associate at the Institute for Educational Research in Belgrade. The main areas of her research are directed towards sociology of education, economic sociology, political sociology. Dragana Gundogan is an expert in research methodology, with experience in a quantitative and qualitative approach to various topics, such as: educational inequalities, values, attitudes and experiences of actors in the educational process. She holds a master's degree in sociology and social anthropology from the Central European University in Budapest. As a doctoral student, she was engaged at the Faculty of Philosophy.

Sanja Blagdanić, full professor of Nature and Society Teaching Methodology at the Faculty of Education, University of Belgrade. The main areas of research are: teaching of nature and society, scientific literacy of students, development of students' historical thinking.
She was a team member in international and national projects for the improvement of primary education in Serbia. She has experience in creating and implementing training courses for teachers accredited by the Institute for the Improvement of Education. She was engaged by UNICEF as an expert and consultant in the field of transition from preschool to primary school system of education. She is the author of textbook sets for The World Around Us and Nature and Society. She coordinates the work package of the ELIPS project related to the dissemination of the Project.

Jelena Stanišić, research associate at the Institute for Educational Research in Belgrade. She is continuously engaged in the study of environmental upbringing and education. Considering the problem of environmental education, she pays special attention to the role of the school as a key educational institution in this process, as well as the possibilities for improving the teaching process and its potential for bringing environmental content closer to students and developing their environmental literacy.

Slađana Savić, a teaching assistant at the Department of Applied Chemistry and a member of the Research Group for Analytical Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry (EnviroSensing) of the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade. Main areas of research: environmental chemistry, wastewater treatment, applied chemistry.
She organized workshops on air pollution for primary and secondary school students at the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade. She regularly publishes popular science texts on current environmental problems in Serbia.

Vera Županec, associate professor of Biology and Ecology Teaching Methodology at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. The main areas of her research are innovative approaches in the teaching of biology and ecology.
She participated in several projects related to environmental education. She is the author and moderator of accredited programs for the professional development of biology teachers in elementary schools.

Zorica Veinović, associate professor in the field of nature and society teaching methodology at the Faculty of Education, University of Belgrade. The research focus is directed towards environmental education and education for sustainable development.
She pays special attention to the dissemination of the goals and values of education for the environment and sustainable development through teaching practice and mentoring, lectures by invitation, creation and implementation of training programs for professional development of teachers. She is the author of the textbook for the subject Nature and Society.
