The project manager, Milica Marušić Jablanović, Ph.D., held an invited lecture on April 25, 2023, at the Faculty of Teacher Education in Thessaloniki, entitled Environmental Literacy and Ecological Identity of Сtudents.
In that lecture, she touched on the most important environmental problems in Serbia, the usual way of measuring environmental literacy in research, as well as environmental activism as one of the indicators of environmental literacy. She introduced the teachers to the results of the pilot research on environmental literacy, which was conducted on a sample of students from Belgrade, as well as to the efforts of environmental movements to preserve Serbia’s natural resources.
In addition, she presented the main research results on the key factors for the formation of ecological identity in children and started a conversation about the role and scope of education in that process.
The lecture stimulated a very fruitful discussion, and the teachers present emphasized that the lecture motivated them to learn more about the mentioned topics, as well as that it offered them a series of new knowledge.
